Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 22nd April 2026

Welcome to bobshomeofficefurniture.co.uk (the "Site"). These Terms & Conditions set out the rules that apply when you visit our Site, place an order, or otherwise interact with us. Please read them carefully — by using the Site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by them.

We've written these Terms in plain English wherever possible. If anything is unclear, email Bob at bob@bobshomeofficefurniture.co.uk and we'll happily explain.

1. About Us

This Site is operated by Bob Robinson, trading as Bob's Home Office Furniture ("we", "us", "our"). We are a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

  • Trading name: Bob's Home Office Furniture

  • Trading address: 43 Garnethill Street, Glasgow, G3 6QD, United Kingdom

  • VAT registration number: 479 9422 30

  • Email: bob@bobshomeofficefurniture.co.uk

  • Phone: 07737 426343

Our website is hosted on the Wix platform (Wix.com Ltd).

2. These Terms

These Terms apply whenever you use the Site or buy products from us. By placing an order, you confirm that you accept these Terms and will comply with them.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version that applies to any order is the version published on this page at the time the order is placed. If you have an active order and we make a material change, we'll let you know.

3. Who Can Buy From Us

By placing an order, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old

  • You are legally able to enter into a binding contract

  • The information you provide at checkout is accurate and complete

We may refuse to accept any order where we have a lawful reason to do so — for example, if we reasonably suspect fraud, if a product is out of stock, if we cannot deliver to your area, or if there has been a pricing error.

4. Our Products

We try to describe and photograph every product as accurately as possible. However:

  • Product colours may appear slightly different on your screen than in real life, depending on your monitor settings

  • Dimensions, weights and specifications are taken from the manufacturer and should be treated as a guide — very minor variations can occur

  • Product availability can change without notice

None of this affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (see Section 10).

5. Prices & Payment

  • All prices on the Site are in pounds sterling (£/GBP) and include VAT at the applicable UK rate

  • Delivery is free to UK mainland addresses. Deliveries to the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, and the Channel Islands may incur a surcharge — we'll confirm this with you by email before dispatch (see our Delivery page)

  • We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Payment is processed securely through our checkout provider

  • VAT invoices are available on request — email us at bob@bobshomeofficefurniture.co.uk

Pricing errors. We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct. If we discover a pricing error on a product you've ordered, we'll contact you before dispatch. You can then either confirm the order at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

6. When Your Order Becomes a Contract

When you place an order, you're making us an offer to buy. We'll send you an order confirmation email, but this is just an acknowledgement — not acceptance.

A binding contract is formed when we email you to confirm dispatch of your order. Up until that point, we can still decline your order (for example, if the product is out of stock, if there's a pricing error, or if we can't deliver to your address).

7. Delivery

  • We deliver across the UK mainland. Delivery typically takes 1–10 working days, depending on the product, the manufacturer, and your address

  • Estimated delivery times shown on the Site are estimates, not guarantees

  • Risk in the goods passes to you when you (or someone you've nominated) takes physical possession of them

  • If no one is available to take delivery, the courier will leave a card and re-attempt or make the goods available for collection. Full details are on our Delivery page

8. Your Right to Cancel (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, if you are a consumer (not buying for business purposes), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason.

How to cancel: Email us at bob@bobshomeofficefurniture.co.uk with your order number before the 14-day period ends.

After you cancel: You have a further 14 days to return the goods to us. We'll provide return instructions when you notify us.

Condition of returned goods: You have a statutory right to handle goods as you reasonably would in a shop — to inspect their nature, characteristics and function. If goods are returned showing signs of use or handling beyond what is reasonable, we may deduct an amount from your refund to reflect the reduction in value.

Refunds: We'll refund the price of the goods plus any standard delivery charge you paid within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or proof that they've been returned). Refunds are made to the original payment method.

Return costs: You are responsible for the cost of returning goods unless the goods are faulty, damaged, or incorrectly described.

Bespoke or made-to-order items: The right to cancel does not apply to goods that are made to your specification or clearly personalised. We will make it clear at the point of sale if any item is bespoke.

Full return details are on our Returns Policy page.

9. Faulty or Damaged Goods

If your order arrives damaged, or turns out to be faulty, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible — ideally within a few days of receipt — with photographs where appropriate. We'll arrange a repair, replacement, or refund in line with your statutory rights.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have a 30-day right to reject faulty goods for a full refund. After 30 days, we may offer repair or replacement first.

10. Your Statutory Rights (Consumer Rights Act 2015)

If you buy goods from us as a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires that:

  • The goods are of satisfactory quality

  • The goods are fit for their intended purpose

  • The goods match any description or sample we provide

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your statutory rights. Manufacturer warranties are offered in addition to — not in place of — these rights.

11. Manufacturer Warranty

Most of our products come with a manufacturer warranty ranging from 1 to 10 years, depending on the item. Warranty length and terms are shown on individual product pages.

To make a warranty claim, contact us and we'll help liaise with the manufacturer on your behalf.

12. Trade & Business Customers

If you are buying products for use in your business (including for resale), rather than as a consumer:

  • The 14-day cooling-off period in Section 8 does not apply

  • The Consumer Rights Act 2015 does not apply; the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 apply instead

  • Our total liability to you for any loss arising out of an order will be limited to the price you paid for the relevant goods

  • We exclude all implied terms to the maximum extent permitted by law

For larger orders or ongoing supply, bespoke trade terms can be arranged — email bob@bobshomeofficefurniture.co.uk.

13. Our Liability

What we don't limit or exclude. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Any breach of your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015

  • Defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987

  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law

What we do limit. Subject to the above, our total liability to you arising from any order is limited to the price paid for the goods in question.

Business customers only: We are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

14. Using the Site Responsibly

When using the Site, you agree not to:

  • Use it for any unlawful purpose

  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or any associated systems

  • Copy, reproduce, or republish material from the Site except for your own personal, non-commercial use

  • Scrape, harvest, or otherwise systematically extract data from the Site without our written permission

15. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, logos, product images, graphics, and copy — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by UK copyright and trade mark law. You may view and print pages for your own personal use, but you may not otherwise copy, reproduce, or distribute any content without our written permission.

16. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We don't control these sites and aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices. If you follow a third-party link, please read that site's own terms and privacy policy.

17. Privacy & Data Protection

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. Please read it carefully.

18. Events Outside Our Control (Force Majeure)

We won't be responsible for delays or failures in performing our obligations that are caused by events outside our reasonable control — for example, supplier failure, courier delays, extreme weather, industrial action, power outages, or government restrictions.

If such an event affects your order, we'll contact you as soon as possible. You'll have the option to wait for delivery, receive a partial delivery, or cancel for a full refund.

19. Complaints & Dispute Resolution

If something's gone wrong with your order, please email Bob directly at bob@bobshomeofficefurniture.co.uk. We take complaints seriously and aim to acknowledge within 2 working days and resolve within 14 working days.

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): If we can't resolve a complaint to your satisfaction, you may be entitled to refer the dispute to a certified ADR provider. We do not currently participate in a specific ADR scheme, but we are happy to engage with any reputable ADR provider you choose.

Legal proceedings: Nothing in these Terms prevents you from bringing proceedings in court if you prefer.

20. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any dispute arising from them will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

If you are a consumer, this does not affect your right to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live. You will always have the protection of any mandatory laws of the country where you are resident.

21. Other Important Terms

  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining Terms will continue in force.

  • Assignment. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation. You may not transfer your rights without our written consent.

  • Waiver. If we fail to insist that you perform any obligation under these Terms, that is not a waiver of our right to insist later.

  • Third-party rights. These Terms are between you and us. No third party has any rights under them.
